Area of care 05
स्तन कैंसर की सर्जरी
01Overview
- Surgery for breast cancer
Breast cancer care usually uses several treatments together. Dr. Devi Singh manages the surgery. Other parts are advised by other specialists. These may be chemotherapy (cancer medicines), radiotherapy (high-energy rays) and hormone-related treatment.
Breast lumps are common and most are not cancer. But any new lump should be examined. Early examination helps to plan care calmly.

03Where surgery fits
Breast cancer surgery in Bikaner:
surgery in plain words.
- 01
Confirming the diagnosis
A breast examination is done first. So are imaging tests, such as mammography or ultrasound, and a needle biopsy.
- 02
Breast-conserving surgery
In suitable cases, only the growth and a margin of healthy tissue are removed. The rest of the breast is kept. Radiotherapy usually follows.
- 03
Mastectomy
This is removal of the whole breast. It may be advised because of the size, position or number of growths. It may also be the patient’s choice.
- 04
Underarm lymph nodes
Lymph nodes are small glands that filter body fluid. Those in the armpit may be checked or removed. They can show if the cancer has spread there.
- 05
Chemotherapy, radiotherapy, reconstruction
These may be advised before or after surgery. Breast reconstruction, which rebuilds the breast shape, can be discussed where it is suitable.
