Surgical approach
लैप्रोस्कोपिक और न्यूनतम चीरे वाली कैंसर सर्जरी
01Overview
- Advanced laparoscopic cancer surgery
- Minimally invasive cancer surgery
In laparoscopic or keyhole surgery, a few small cuts are made. A thin camera and fine tools are passed through them. The surgeon works while watching a screen.
It can be an option for some cancers. The first aim of cancer surgery is always to remove the disease safely and fully. So open surgery is sometimes the better choice.

02What it involves
Laparoscopic & minimally invasive cancer surgery in Bikaner:
the method in plain words.
- 01
How it works
Gas is used to gently lift the belly wall. This gives room to see and work through small cuts.
- 02
Where it may be used
It is used, where suitable, for some bowel, stomach, urological and gynaecological cancers.
- 03
Possible advantages
Smaller cuts may mean less wound pain and an easier recovery for some patients. But this differs from case to case.
- 04
Converting to open surgery
During the operation, the surgeon may find that keyhole is not safe. Then it may be changed to open surgery. This is a safety decision and is explained beforehand.
- 05
Not suitable for everyone
Large or advanced tumours, earlier operations and some health conditions may make open surgery the safer choice.
03How the plan is made
Decided together,
step by step.
- 01
Your doctor examines you and reviews your scans to see if a keyhole approach is right for your case.
- 02
Your doctor studies your reports and scans and advises any missing tests.
- 03
The case is discussed with other specialists where needed. These may be doctors for scans, tissue tests, cancer medicines and radiotherapy. This is called a multidisciplinary discussion.
- 04
The plan is explained to you and your family in plain words, with all the options. You decide together with the doctor.

05Questions
Asked about
laparoscopic & minimally invasive cancer surgery.
Is keyhole surgery always better?
Not always. The best approach is the one that is safest for your cancer. It is chosen after examination and scans.
Will I go home sooner?
Some patients recover faster. But this depends on the operation and the person.
Is the cancer removed as completely?
The aim is the same as in open surgery. If this cannot be done safely by keyhole, open surgery is advised.
